Jeremiah 42:9-11

⁹ and he said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition:

¹⁰ “ ‘If you resolve to remain in this land, I will build you up and not tear you down; I will plant you and not uproot you. For I deeply regret the disaster that I have inflicted upon you. ¹¹ Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon whom at this moment you so greatly fear. You have no reason to be frightened of him, says the Lord, for I am with you to ensure your safety and to rescue you from his power.
